Penske Automotive Connecticut is proud to sponsor the following community organizations

In celebration of the Grand Opening of the New Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield, a portion of all sales for September was donated to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.  We are also proud to announce that Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield was able to donate over $7,500 as well as a van to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.

Bridgeport Rescue Mission demonstrates the love of God to hungry, homeless and addicted people throughout Fairfield County, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We provide a place of hope and dignity, fighting poverty from the inside out. Through our yearlong New Live recovery program we offer education, biblical counseling and case management. We are funded by compassionate businesses, (like Penske Automotive), individuals, churches, organizations and foundations, trusting in God to meet our needs. Near & Far Aid is Fairfield County's all volunteer fundraising and fund granting organization working to end poverty throughout the region. With no paid staff or rented office space, Near & Far Aid has, for over 60 years, worked to improve the lives of children, families and individuals. Since 2000, through the support of our donors and corporate sponsers, Near & Far Aid has granted over $8 million to charitable agencies providing: -educational opportunities to disadvantaged youth and adults -shelter for the homeless -critical healthcare services for those who otherwise would be denied -for the elderly -for the hungry -safe quarters and new beginnings fo the victims of domestic abuse -job training for the working poor and the unemployed.

Porsche is proud to partner with this exceptional group as the Auto Sponser of their annual Spring Gala at Mitchells in March and the annual Golf Classic to be held at the Country Club of Fairfield this September 29, 2009. For more information and how to help, go to: http://nearandfaraid.org/

From its first season of plays on the campus of Fairfield University in 2001, to the opening of StageOne in Downtown Fairfield in 2004, to a string of sold out performances by major artists at the Klein Auditorium in Bridgport, the Fairfield Theatre Company has evolved into one of our region's most energetic and productive performing arts groups. FTC has presented nearly a thousand days and nights of live concerts, plays, film screenings, theatre workshops for children and adults, an outdoor summer music festival, a weekly Farmer's Market, stand-up comedy, lectures, readings and more to the delight of more than one hundred thousand patrons to date. Fairfield County Coucours d'Elegance - presenting 100 years of significant motor vehicles - attracts participants from across the US and Europe. We display the vehicles on the show field in chronological order demonstrating the evolution of design and technology from the earliest vehicle through current production models. Each year, we also celebrate another major Concours and an historic racing venue with special exhibits.

We provide two days of excitement for all members of the family with special activities and programs for children.

Our programs benefit the Next Steps Developmental Center (a partnership of AIND/Giant Steps School (Southport, CT) and Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services (Westport, CT). Its mission is to provide integrated trans-disciplinary diagnostic and treatment services as well as continued opportunities for social and cognitive development for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related developmental disorders. In 2008, we raised more than $60,000 to support their programs. Visit us at http://www.fairfieldcountyconcours.com/

Westport Young Woman's League (WYWL)

The Westport Young Woman's League (WYWL) is a dynamic group of 200 women who contribute their talents in many ways to a variety of community service, fundraising and social activities. In the midst of it all, we manage to have a good time and meet many other great women in our town.

Since its inception, the League has distributed more than three million dollars to area charities. CraftWestport (formally known as the Creative Arts Festival), and the Minute Man Race generate the major share of the proceeds used for contributions to needy agencies throughout the region each year. Some of the many recipients include Mercy Learning Center, Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Kids in Crisis, Center for Hope, Project Return and Interfaith Housing. Some of the local community service projects we have been involved with include the Kids on the Block puppet shows, Kids in Crisis Food Drive, cooking for the Gillespie Center and Bread & Roses, Senior Center Bingo and many, many others. The League also has a variety of social events, including daytime and evening gourmet groups, seasonal socials and children's events for its members.
