Mercedes-Benz Oil Change

If you own one of our exquisite Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Westportf, used or new, you may have received a notification about being due for Mercedes-Benz Service A & and Mercedes-Benz Service B* via your driver information center. What is the difference between the two? We’re glad you asked! Our service team will give an in-depth explanation about what each entails and the Mercedes-Benz service cost. Feel free to contact us if you still have questions!

What’s the Mercedes-Benz Service A*?

The Mercedes-Benz Service A* is a specific checklist that contains certain maintenance items that are to be performed after one year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. The services on that checklist will vary depending on the model year of your vehicle, but you can typically expect the following services:

  • Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement**
  • Oil Filter Replacement**
  • All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year and model
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • Adhere to all required elements listed by model year and specific model as indicated on the corresponding service sheet for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Systems in the USA.

What’s the Mercedes-Benz Service B*?

Similar to the Mercedes-Benz Service A*, the Mercedes-Benz Service B* also includes specific maintenance tasks, but they are performed after 2 years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first. Again, the services will vary according to the model year. During Service B*, the following services are carried out:

  • Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement**
  • Oil Filter Replacement**
  • All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year and model
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
  • Brake fluid exchange
  • Adhere to all required elements listed by model year and specific model as indicated on the corresponding service sheet for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Systems in the USA.

Service A vs. Service B*

The major difference between the Mercedes-Benz service checklists is the time intervals. As mentioned above, Service A* is suggested after 1 year or 10,000 miles, while Service B* is recommended after 2 years or 20,000 miles. The tasks performed in each checklist are fairly similar, but in Service B*, you’ll notice that your vehicle’s brake fluid and cabin air filter will also be replaced.
