The entry-level engine for the Mercedes-Benz GLS is a turbo 3.0-liter, inline-six gas engine. It features a nine-speed automatic transmission, standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, and an adaptive air suspension system. The engine produces 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. A turbo 4.0-liter, V8 engine is also available, and it delivers 510 horsepower. The AMG® GLS 63 has a 603-horsepower, turbocharged V8 engine. It adds active roll stabilization, performance steering, and an electronic limited-slip rear differential.
The 2026 X7 is offered with two trim levels. The first option comes with a 375-horsepower, turbocharged inline-six engine. The alternative is a 523-horsepower, turbocharged V8. These engines pair with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission.
Appearance
The GLS boasts classic elegance with modern elements throughout its exterior. The tall roof offers considerable space inside the cabin, while the defined lines on the sides and hood add personality. The grille is styled with vertical, chrome elements. It is accompanied by LED-enhanced headlights.
The X7 has a boxier shape with a thick ledge along the bottom of the doors. The narrow grille is sectioned into two parts, and it is mounted above a unique bumper. The large air vents have boomerang-shaped styling, while the headlights are slender.
