• The C-Class can be had as a coupe, a sedan, or a cabriolet.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class

• With the E-Class, you’ll pay $54,050* MSRP for the base trim. The high-end of the lineup is the AMG® E 63 S Sedan, at $106,350 MSRP*
• The E-Class is available in four configurations, and if you don’t opt for one of the two AMG® builds, you can choose a model with or without all-wheel drive.
• In addition to being offered in coupe, sedan, and cabriolet builds, the E-Class is also available as a wagon.

Performance: Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. E-Class

For 2020, both the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class start with identical engines. However, their fuel economy specs do differ, and the smaller C-Class is more efficient:

• Standard 2.0-Liter Turbocharged Inline 4-Cylinder Engine
  • 255 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque for both the C-Class and E-Class

According to EPA estimates, the C-Class earns 24 mpg in the city, and 35 mpg on the highway. The same independent reviewers found that the E-Class earns 23 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. So, if you often commute long distances from Westport to Weston, you might prefer the C-Class.  If you move down the lineup, more differences between the C-Class and E-Class models become apparent:

• If you decide to go for an AMG® C-Class, you’ll have three engine upgrades to consider. These include a 385-hp biturbo® V6, a 469-hp AMG® biturbo® V8, and a 503-hp AMG® biturbo® V8.
• The E 450 receives a 362-hp biturbo® V6. You can also upgrade with an AMG® model for a 429-hp Inline-6 or a 603-hp biturbo® V8.
